The sessions and optional workshops offered during the seminar are intended for those new to the NIH grants process, including sponsored project officers and departmental administrators, new investigators, faculty, graduate students, etc. For attendees with more experience, the seminar provides an opportunity to obtain the latest updates on grants policies and procedures.

  • The Administrator's Track includes sessions on topics such as Uniform Guidance, Current Issues at NIH, Peer Review for Administrators, Compliance Pitfalls, Budget Basics, and Interacting with eRA...just to name a few.
  • The New Investigator's Track is redesigned this year to provide step-by-step guidance on mapping your career, including an understanding of the funding process and what can be expected up to the time of award.

Optional Pre-Seminar Workshops:
On the day prior to the seminar, several optional workshops are offered for both administrators and new investigators for an additional fee. If you are brand new to NIH policies and process, then the "Administrator's Boot Camp: Getting Started with NIH" would be ideal to get you acquainted before the 2-day seminar begins. For those who are more interested in the electronic grants process, there are two 1/2 day workshops offered from eRA on the application submission process & working with the eRA Commons.
