Who can attend?

The sessions are open to all Tulane staff and faculty. 

How can I view the sessions?

After registering for Professional Development Day through Zoom Events, you can view all virtual (morning) sessions

Afternoon workshops will be in person only, and a Zoom option will not be available. You must register for any individual in-person sessions through TULearn. In-person options are offered at different locations and at different times, so be mindful when registering for back-to-back sessions.

When I try logging into Zoom to register, it does not recognize my account and password.

You must use the SSO button (single sign-on) to sign in. If you try typing your Tulane credentials to sign in in the email and password box, you cannot register. Check out our step-by-step how-to guide for registration. 

What are the details for the in-person workshops?

There are four in-person workshops scheduled:

What if the workshop I want to attend is full?

There are waitlists available for each session when they reach capacity. Anytime someone removes their registration, the next person on the waitlist will be automatically registered for the workshop.

Is there a virtual option for the afternoon in-person workshops?

No, there is no virtual option for any of the afternoon sessions.

What if I can no longer attend a workshop I registered for?

Please return to TULearn, where you originally registered, and click the "unregister" button. This will allow the next person on the waitlist to attend the session. If you need assistance, please reach out to [email protected]

Do I have to register for the full day?

No. You must register to participate in the event, but once you have done that, you sign up for only the sessions you would like to attend. Registration in Zoom Events will give you access to all virtual sessions, but you must complete additional registration for any in-person sessions you would like to attend. Can I attend a workshop on a campus that is different from my own?

Of course! Free shuttle transportation is available for staff and faculty with their Splash Cards to attend workshops at Uptown and Downtown campuses and then return to their campuses at the end of sessions. View the shuttle schedule to plan your day.

Why do I have to register?

Given space limitations, registration will ensure we can accommodate as many employees as possible who would like to attend. This is particularly true for the in-person workshops.

Can I cancel my registration?

You can remove sessions from your agenda at any time. You must unregister for any in-person sessions you can no longer attend in TULearn. If you want to cancel your registration for the entire event, please email [email protected]

Do I have to choose my sessions under one track?

No. Tracks make it easy to pinpoint the sessions most relevant to your needs. You can mix and match across tracks and attend any session you like.

Will any sessions be recorded?

Yes! All virtual sessions will be recorded and will be available for viewing after the event. Please allow two to three weeks for us to post recordings. In person workshops will not be recorded. 

Pay guidance for University-sponsored events 

Employees are encouraged to attend this University-sponsored event. Employees attending this event should gain supervisor approval prior to registering.

Supervisors, as is the case for any leave request, will make their decision based on their need to operate effectively and efficiently. If approval is granted, time away will be paid. Employees should clock in at the start of the workday and clock out at the end of the workday.
