Three Women, Lisa Taddeo's 2019 bestselling book, is getting the television treatment with a new series of the same name. Like its inspiration, the show — which now has an official trailer — explores the intricacies of female desire and sexuality.

Coming to Starz, Three Women is based on the true story told by Taddeo, who spent eight years tracing the lives of three women: Lina (Betty Gilpin), a suburban housewife in an unhappy marriage; Sloane (DeWanda Wise), an entrepreneur exploring polyamory with her husband (Blair Underwood); and Maggie (Gabrielle Creevy), a high-schooler in a sexual relationship with her teacher. Gia (played by Shailene Woodley) drives across the country learning about these women, their stories, and their hopes for the future.

The series, which already premiered in Australia, will be coming to Starz this September, with weekly release dates per episode. Taddeo was involved as both a writer and an executive producer for the show. Woodley essentially plays her character, as Taddeo herself spent thousands of hours traveling around the States to unpack the women's stories. In an interview with Mashable, the writer spoke about her learnings during the experience, saying, "The wildest thing in a sense was the way that women judge other women for talking about desire."

Three Women will premiere on Sept. 13, 2024 on Starz.
