Jacksonville Symphony Hosts Successful 2024 Orchestra Personnel Managers Conference

Jacksonville, Fla. (July 31, 2024) — The Jacksonville Symphony hosted the 2024 Orchestra Personnel Managers Conference, bringing together 43 personnel managers from across the United States, Canada and Europe, including representatives from Quebec and Vienna. The event spanned three days and featured many round-table discussions, engaging activities and presentations by Tom Gaitens, Owner of OPAS; Jeff Neville, Personnel Manager of the Los Angeles Philharmonic; Stephen Molina, Assistant Principal Bass of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra; Felice Doynov, Associate Dean of Visiting Faculty and Orchestra Manager at the New World Symphony; and Blake Schlabach, Vice President & General Manager of the Jacksonville Symphony.

The conference was not only a platform for sharing insights and best practices but also a momentous occasion for the Jacksonville Symphony. Jim Neglia, the current Personnel Manager with over 35 years of experience in the industry, retired following the conference. Neglia’s extensive contributions and dedication to the orchestra community were celebrated by his peers, making the event particularly special.

"We are honored to have hosted such a distinguished group of professionals," said Steven Libman, President and CEO of the Jacksonville Symphony. "The conference was a resounding success, fostering meaningful connections and valuable exchanges among all attendees."
