DHL SUPPLY CHAIN ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR LOGISITCS AND DISTRIBUTION CENTER IN NORTH JACKSONVILLE

Jacksonville City Council approved the economic development agreement as Project Empire

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (August 14, 2024) –DHL Supply Chain, the Americas leader in contract logistics and part of DHL Group, announced plans to build a 600,000-square-foot facility in North Jacksonville that will create at least 100 new jobs by the end of 2025.

DHL Supply Chain will invest $64 million in the building and equipment for the new facility near Kraft Road and Eastport Road. The project went through the Jacksonville City Council last fall under the code name Project Empire and was unanimously approved.

"We welcome DHL Supply Chain and thank them for choosing Jacksonville. Their new facility and the 100 jobs that will be created to support it are a reflection of our reputation as America's Logistics Center,” Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan said. “We are proud to have the world's leading contract logistics provider expand its operations in our fast-growing city."

DHL Supply Chain has 529 facilities and more than 51,000 associates in North America. The company manages over 161 million square feet of warehousing space with 1 million sq. ft of DHL operated space in the state of Florida.

“Although we have seen some softening of warehouse demand from peak levels, DHL Supply Chain has continued to create potential real estate investment opportunities that we can maximize on.  Through our Real Estate Solutions platform we were able to identify a location to make an investment ahead of potential needs and also help our customers to tailor solutions to their unique operations,” said Carl DeLuca, Head of Real Estate Solutions Americas. “We are grateful to have collaborated with the City of Jacksonville and the JAXUSA Partnership, whose support enables us to continue to invest in Florida.”

“This is a great win for our community and another example of international logistics companies seeing Jacksonville as a key location in the Southeast,” JAXUSA Partnership President Aundra Wallace said. “We have all the ingredients needed to reach customers throughout the Southeast – a deepwater port, access to interstates and rail and a talented workforce. We thank DHL for investing in our community and look forward to watching the company grow here.”
