DIY modern concrete Christmas trees from tired old thrifted finds!
Hello and welcome to another holiday DIY project.
I have made so many projects out of concrete the past year or so.
I finally found a product that doesn’t require super heavy bags of concrete mix that are too heavy to handle, messy, and wasteful. You can get it here, or if you have a Hobby Lobby nearby, it’s around $6.50 there!
I found these outdated beaded trees at Goodwill on one of my thrifting trips and thought they would make a great form for the concrete. They have wire on the inside which acts to secure the concrete and hold them in place once you remove the outer shell.
Mix up your stepping stone mix according to the directions on the package.
Invert your trees into a bucket or vase making sure they fit snugly and are level.
Pour in your concrete mix and let set up overnight.
Then cut and peel the outer beaded shell away and discard.
What do you think? Is this a project you would try?

These look awesome, Melaine. So smart to take the frame of something you don’t love and turn it into something you do that suits your style. Beautiful!
