BIRMINGHAM, AL β€” Railroad travel may not be as prevalent in Birmingham as in other cities in the U.S., but that may change if Pres. Joe Biden's infrastructure bill passes. Amtrak has proposed a plan to increase rail service to 47 of the top 50 metros, including Birmingham, according to a Birmingham Business Journal report.

The bill would allow Amtrak to connect to 160 communities throughout the U.S. by building new or improving rail corridors in over 25 states.
