Birmingham Musician Pixellay Featured on Emmy Winning Ted Lasso

At just 17 years old, Pixellay is already taking the world by storm

17-year-old Birmingham, Alabama electronic music producer, songwriter, remixer, and DJ Landon Friedman, professionally known as Pixellay, had one of his songs featured on Ted Lasso, which picked up 7 Emmys in last week's ceremony.

Pixellay’s track is featured in the seventh episode in the series, entitled “Make Rebecca Great Again”. In this episode, Rebecca (Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham) celebrates her first anniversary as a divorcee, while Ted (Emmy winner Jason Sudeikis) struggles to come to terms with his own divorce. Pixellay’s “Decoder” appears towards the end of the episode during a climatic club scene.

“When I found out that my song ‘Decoder’ would be included in Ted Lasso, I was very excited to have the opportunity for more people to hear my music,” says Pixellay. “While watching the show, I was thrilled to find out that the song was played during a pivotal moment in Ted's journey and the season overall. The show has had a positive impact on my music by bringing in new listeners from all over the globe and by providing me inspiration for the new music I have been working on and releasing. I think that Ted Lasso fans will enjoy the recent music I have released since ‘Decoder’, and I hope they will give the songs a listen. I feel very fortunate to be a part of this incredible, award-winning show!”

The inclusion has helped Pixellay rack up almost 30,000 plays on Spotify alone and tens of thousands on Apple Music.
