Capitol Riot Anniversary: Where Alabama Suspects' Cases Stand

Multiple Alabama residents have been arrested in connection with the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riot, some of whom still await trial.

WASHINGTON, DC β€” A year has passed since a pro-Trump rally evolved into a riot at the U.S. Capitol, and multiple Alabama residents are among more than 600 people who have been arrested in connection with the riot.

Of the nine Alabama residents arrested, some have pleaded guilty while others still await trial.

Russell Dean Alford: The Etowah County resident was charged with entering a restricted building or grounds and disorderly conduct. He is still awaiting trial.

Joshua Matthew Black: Charged with entering a restricted building or grounds, violent entry and disorderly conduct, Black has since been released on his own recognizance. A trial date has not yet been set.

Phillip Andrew Bromley: The Shelby County resident was charged with unlawful entry of a restricted building and disorderly conduct. He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct and has not been sentenced.

Lonnie Coffman: The first Alabama resident to be arrested in connection to the incident, Coffman was indicted on multiple charges after law enforcement found Molotov cocktail explosive devices and multiple weapons in his pickup truck. He pleaded guilty in November to possession of an unregistered firearm and carrying a pistol without a license. His sentencing is set for April 1.

Joshua James: The 33-year-old Arab resident was charged with obstruction of an official proceeding, conspiracy and entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds. He is set to stand trial Jan. 31 and April 4.

Kari Dawn Kelly: Charged with unlawful entry of a restricted building and disorderly conduct, the Mobile native pleaded guilty Dec. 23 to parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building. She will be sentenced in March.

Christian Matthew Manley: The former Marine faces multiple charges, including assaulting or resisting officers using a dangerous weapon; civil disorder; exhibiting disorderly conduct and demonstrating in a Capitol building; and engaging in physical violence and disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building. he is still awaiting trial, and has since moved to Alaska.

Gregory Lamar Nix: Facing multiple charges that include engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds; civil disorder; and assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers with a dangerous weapon, the Blount County resident is still awaiting trial.

William Wright Watson: The Auburn resident was charged with violent entry and civil disorder. He was released from custody and is awaiting trial.
