City Of Birmingham: Arlington Historic House Celebrates Women Creating Art In The Community

Birmingham, AL – The Arlington Historic House is celebrating Women’s History Month by highlighting some amazing female artists. Arlington will host “Art at Arlington, Celebrating Women Creating Art in Our Community” on March 12, 2022 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. The women themed art show will feature four dynamic artists including Pete Karenina, Yogi Dada, Dori Boyd, and Brook Huffman, specializing in glass art, photography, canvas paintings, handmade jewelry and more.

Toby Richards, Arlington’s Director, says this is a wonderful way to connect the community to Arlington, “We are excited to highlight and showcase the contributions of women in the arts for Women’s History Month.” Ms. Richards, who is also an artist, says there is a healing that comes with art, “I recognize that art is another way to heal our community, it can heighten our mood; art is the healing power of love and is the thread that binds our community.”

Arlington hopes to showcase other artist throughout the year as part of their Art at Arlington Series. Arlington Historic House is located at 331 Cotton Avenue SW. The Art Show is free and open to the public. The artist’s pieces will be available for purchase.
