BIRMINGHAM, AL — Coronavirus cases continue to drop across the country while the number of those who are fully vaccinated continues to rise, which means there is even more reason to celebrate this Independence Day. July 4 is almost here, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you.

Hoover Honors America

Where: Hoover Met Parking Lot

When: July 2, 9 p.m.

The City of Hoover sponsors a fireworks show at the Hoover Met, with accompanying music broadcast on 87.9 FM

Fire on the Water

Where: Oak Mountain State Park

When: July 3, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The City of Pelham will host its annual Fire on the Water celebration in partnership with Oak Mountain State Park. Families are welcome to spend the entire day exploring the park. Gates open at 7:00 am. The event begins at 5 p.m. with activities, music, food trucks, and more. The fireworks show begins at 9 p.m.

Thunder on the Mountain

Where: Vulcan Park & Museum

When: July 4, 9 p.m.

Free to the public, this year's show will last approximately 20 minutes and will feature a variety of firework shells that will brighten the sky with new colors and patterns. The show will be choreographed to a musical soundtrack that will feature a mix of patriotic favorites, popular music and inspirational songs.

BBQ & View

Where: 1918 Catering; 197 Vulcan Road

When: July 4, 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.

The BBQ and View will feature food trucks with barbecue, burgers, chicken, seafood, desserts, frozen treats and more. Also featuring a variety of vendors, a beer garden with cocktail bar and live music from one of the areas hottest bands before viewing the fireworks from Vulcan.

Trussville Freedom Celebration

Where: The Mall in historic downtown Trussville

When: July 4, 5:30 p.m.

Enjoy food, music, family activities and fireworks in downtown Trussville. Food vendors open at 5:30 p.m., music starts at 6 p.m. and fireworks begin at 9 p.m.

Peavine Falls Run

Where: Oak Mountain State Park

When: July 4, 7 a.m.

This event is a 4th of July tradition in central Alabama. Visit Oak Mountain State Park, run with 600 of your closest friends, and enjoy a great race, a fun course and have a great time all the way around.
