This year, the chapter studied the Birmingham Children’s March of 1963. After interviewing “foot soldiers” who marched as children, they wrote an original play about the march. They then turned their play into a podcast which they shared with area middle-school students. They also sponsored “Mental Health Happy Hours” for the College, and they hosted statewide Safe-Zone Training to make Alabama Community College System schools more welcoming places for members of the LGBTQ Community.
