Lakeshore Foundation to host Celebration of Champions

The Birmingham nonprofit will celebrate Olympians and Paralympians during opening ceremonies on July 26.

Birmingham, Alabama — Celebrate Birmingham’s connection to the Olympic and Paralympic Games during the Celebration of Champions: An Evening in Paris. The event, honoring Team USA Olympians and Paralympians will be held at the Lakeshore Foundation on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 6:30 p.m.

Guests are invited to watch the opening ceremonies of the 2024 Summer Olympics live from Paris, France while enjoying music, French cuisine and games. The Lakeshore Fieldhouse will be transformed to resemble a Parisian street for the evening as members and guests celebrate the games along with Alabama athletes before the U.S. Paralympic Wheelchair Rugby team departs to compete for the Gold Medal in Paris.

“Lakeshore is proud to play a role in preparing athletes to pursue their greatest dreams. The Celebration of Champions is a wonderful and unique opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the athletes as they prepare to represent our nation,” said Jen Allred, Chief of Programs and Special Projects at Lakeshore. “The power of sport to unify us is incredible and being a part of Celebration of Champions is an important way for us all to show our support. This event holds such a special place in the hearts of so many, it’s not to be missed,” she added.
