BIRMINGHAM, AL — The weekend in the Birmingham area is chock full of entertainment options, starting with Birmingham's discovery music festival, Secret Stages, which is back in Avondale Friday and Saturday, with 30 bands slated to play on three stages.
Saturday at Oak Mountain Amphitheatre, one of the state's most legendary country music bands, Alabama, celebrates its 50th anniversary.
For those who are looking for entertainment other than live music, the Birmingham Barons are in town, hosting the Mississippi Braves and the Chattanooga Lookouts.
