BIRMINGHAM, AL β€” Due to increased demand for travel from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport, Southwest Airlines will resume two non-stop flights from BHM. Daily flights to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and Houston William P. Hobby International Airport will be available beginning Sept. 7, according to the Birmingham Business Journal.

Southwest had originally planned to resume those routes in November, as both flights were removed from BHM last year due to the heavy impact Covid-19 had on travel. Increased demand from BHM prompted Southwest to resume the routes ahead of schedule.
