  1. Early Tuesday morning, a woman was hit by a vehicle attempting to cross the street in West Birmingham. Tyesa Shawtae Smith, 42, was crossing 3rd Avenue West when she was hit and killed by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene. Police are still investigating the situation. (ABC 3340)
  2. A former Alabama lawmaker pled guilty after he misused state grant money by paying kickbacks to a legislative assistant. Former Rep. Fred Plump Jr., a Democrat from Fairfield, took about $200,000 of the $400,000 allocated to his Piper Davis Youth Baseball League and gave it to a legislative assistant. The payments took place between 2018 and 2022 before he took office. (WVUA)
  3. A 22-year-old man was killed early Monday morning during a shooting at 10th Street North at 3rd Avenue North. Salhadine Adamou sustained a gunshot wound during an alleged assault, but he died when transported to the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) hospital. Police ask the public to come forward if they have any information about the shooting. (CBS 42)
