  1. On Sunday, the Hoover community honored the brave firefighters and paramedics who lost their lives on 9/11 during the annual "Climb to Remember." One of the goals of the annual climb was to teach the younger generations about what happened that day β€” each participant received a lanyard with the name of a fallen hero, and the staircases were lined with all of the first responders who died. (ABC 3340)
  2. On Saturday afternoon, the Hoover Police Department (HPD) responded to a residential burglary in progress when the homeowner arrived and saw a stranger inside their home. HPD was dispatched and arrived at the home within two minutes, where they discovered evidence of forced entry. The suspect had left by the time HPD arrived, and the investigation is still ongoing. (WBRC)
  3. On Saturday, independent insurance agent Ken McFeeters announced he will be running for Congress to represent Alabama’s Sixth Congressional District, which includes Hoover. McFeeters will be challenging incumbent Gary Palmer (R-Hoover), who will be running for a sixth term. The primary election will be held on Mar. 5. (Alamaba Today)
