  1. Mountain Brook is Alabama's first city to partner with the national non-profit Bee City USA. Mountain Brook is officially a Bee City, meaning it intends to reduce pesticides, educate the public and increase the bee population. The city's Director of Planning, Building and Sustainability Dana Hazan says the partnership is about, "setting the example in the state of Alabama, setting the example to other cities, setting the example to our community to be responsible stewards of the land that we have." (CBS 42)
  2. During this week's Mountain Brook City Council meeting, residents spoke about their anxiety around flooding. The area surrounding The Cut experiences severe flooding each time it rains and homeowners are frustrated. One resident, Brad Cleage, said at the meeting, "It's gotten four inches up the back of my house the last two years. I've been very lucky that it didn't get in my house but it very easily could. That's my concern." (Village Living)
  3. The Greater Birmingham Association of Home Builders is hosting two weekends of its Parade of Homes event. The event is meant to encourage prospective buyers. It will be occurring later this spring, over the weekends of April 28-30 and May 5-7. (Village Living)
