  1. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office in nearby Birmingham is seeking the public's help in locating the family of two individuals who recently passed away. Andrea Denise King, 42, was found unresponsive in a private residence with no signs of foul play, and her cause of death is pending. She is believed to have family in the Indianapolis area. Additionally, 68-year-old Danny Clayton Rodgers, who died of natural causes, lived in Birmingham but his family remains unknown. Those with information about their families are urged to contact the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. (ABC 33/40 News)
  2. Food insecurity among children in Central Alabama is a prevalent issue, with one in four children affected. However, summer feeding programs are being reinstated to address this problem during school breaks. The Community Food Bank of Central Alabama in nearby Birmingham aims to serve 30,000 meals to children at 15 locations in Jefferson County from Jun. 5 to Aug. 4. (ABC 33/40 News)
  3. The Jefferson County Department of Roads and Transportation will hold a Public Information Meeting to inform the public about two projects on Jun. 15. The first project is the widening of Old Tuscaloosa Highway, Phase Two, extending from the Tuscaloosa County line to McAshan Drive. The second project involves the construction of the Charles Hamilton Road Bridge over the Five Mile Creek Tributary. Officials will be present during the meeting to provide project information and address any inquiries or concerns from interested citizens, emphasizing the importance of attending for a better understanding of the proposed projects.
