Here are the top three stories today in Mountain Brook:
- Mountain Brook police now say they are searching for the same suspect who allegedly used counterfeit money in several Homewood businesses. Vestavia Hills police are also search for a suspect who used counterfeit bills but can't confirm if it's the same person. (WBRC 6)
- Mountain Brook High School gave out its year end recognitions on Wednesday. The school also announced the senior class was able to raise $70,000 for the Mountain Brook City Schools Foundation. (Mountain Brook Schools via Facebook)
- All Alabama state senators are currently in support of a bill that would reduce the state's grocery tax from 4 percent to 2 percent, over a 4-year period. Alabama is currently one of just three states that "fully taxes food." Gov. Kay Ivey has also indicated she's open to the idea. There's just 15 days left in this year's legislative session to pass bills. (CBS 42)
