Here are the top three stories in Mountain Brook today:

  1. Multiple residents have filed lawsuits against the City of Mountain Brook, the Board of Education, and Schoel Engineering, alleging work on Mountain Brook Junior High School led to property damage caused by storm drainage. According to attorney John Somerville, a 1995 agreement includes a buffer between the school and the adjacent property. (Village Living)
  2. The Mountain Brook boys and girls tennis teams both had a "nearly perfect" Class 6A state tournament at the end of April, winning 17 out of 18 flights across single and doubles. Their prospects are also looking good for the 2024 season. (Village Living)
  3. Reagan Riley from Mountain Brook captured the track & field class 6A 1,600-meter dash with the second-fastest girls running time of the day. Thursday was the first day of the Alabama High School Athletics Association's 2023 State Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Here's photos from the day (AL.com)
