- Mountain Brook Schools' athletics director Benny Eaves is retiring after 30 years. "Athletics has been my focus and love since I was old enough to pick up a ball," he said in a statement. (MB Athletics via Twitter)
- The Alabama State Senate has unanimously passed a bill that would require hospitals and nursing homes to allow visitation from a "designated caregiver." AL.com reports it was inspired in part by Mountain Brook Senator Dan Roberts' wife Anne Roberts, who died in March 2022. (AL.com)
- Cahaba Riverkeeper says they still have concerns as the last of the Moody landfill fire burns out. They're concerned about transparency with state agencies and continue to test nearby water for toxins. There's still a lingering smell in the air, although the EPA says it's safe to breathe. (CBS 42)
