The Mountain Brook City Council approved a bid from Surf Turf for a field project at Mountain Brook Junior High School the uses artificial turf, but only asking the company in charge of the operations questions about whether the turf has any link to cancer — a query the company refuted. In other Council news, an e-waste event is scheduled for April 22. (Village Living)
2. Learn the story behind LadyBird Taco, the Nashville-based restaurant that opened in Mountain Brook's Lane Parke in February. "Our mission is to enable life-giving community and that means a lot of things to us," said the business's fourth partner, Brooks Veazey, a Birmingham native. (Soul Grown)
