Here are the top three stories today in Mountain Brook:
- Mountain Brook residents expressed a variety of opinions on how to address flooding in the area near Richmar Drive and Mountain Lane at a special City Council meeting on Tuesday. They didn't arrive at any one solution, with Mark Simpson and Walter Schoel of Schoel Engineering explaining that improving flooding in one area could also exacerbate it in others. (Village Living)
- Both opponents and supporters made their case for and against the rezoning of the Shade Valley Presbyterian Church property that could become a housing development. Some concerns included needing more concessions for the community and the increase in density it would cause. (Village Living)
- A bill introduced by Mountain Brook Rep. David Faulkner requiring the Insurance Department to post notices in the Alabama Administrative Monthly and online, rather than in newspapers, has unanimously passed the State Senate and is headed to the governor. Here's what else the state legislature has been sup to. (Montgomery Advertiser)
