  1. The Mountain Brook girls track team won the 6A girls Alabama High School Athletics Association State Track and Field Championships in Gulf Shores on Saturday. Check out a photo of them celebrating with a trophy and Mountain Brook athlete Annie Kerr midway through a pole vault. (AL.com)
  2. Steve Ammons, the current Jefferson County Commissioner for District 5 which includes Mountain Brook, has been appointed the next CEO of the Birmingham Business Alliance. The Vestavia Hills resident said he's proud of bringing job development and capital investment to Jefferson County during his time on the commission. (Village Living)
  3. There's a new non-stop flight from Birmingham to New York City from American Airlines, making it the second airline to fly the route after Delta. American Airlines now has seven direct destinations from the airport. (AL.com)
