Mountain Brook Launches 2018 Restaurant Trail

The trail will consist of a list of 48 restaurants throughout the city for participants to visit throughout the calendar year.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — Foodies in Mountain Brook have a new challenge to look forward to in 2018, according to Village Living. The City of Mountain Brook is offering a new "restaurant trail," where participants can keep track of all of the local restaurants they eat at throughout the year.

The Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Stewart Welch created the challenge as a means to encourage residents to eat local and bolster Mountain Brook businesses by branching out.

“If people are anything like me … we have 40 something restaurants within our city limits, but there’s, like, half a dozen we go to all the time,” Welch told Village Living. “So this forces me to go and eat at every restaurant.”

The trail will consist of a list of 48 restaurants throughout the city for participants to visit throughout the calendar year. While participants are certainly not expected to complete the trail, those who do will be eligible to receive Village Gold for their efforts.

Participants are also encouraged to use the hashtag #i8mb as they make their way down the list.
