Here are the top three stories in Mountain Brook today:

  1. The Mountain Brook boys' soccer team was ranked fourth overall in the last week by the Alabama High School Athletic Association's coaches. The girls team ranked fifth in class 6A, with a 12-4-1 record. (AL.com)
  2. Wim Miree first became a pastry chef 26 years ago. Just last year he opened Hello Bakery in Crestline Gardens. He said it's great not having to answer to anyone, but he'd rather bake than take care of the other tasks associated with running a small business. The bakery's best-seller is Marie’s Fig Cookies, a recipe taught to him by a 90-year-old neighbor, Marie. (Village Living)
  3. A fifth suspect was arrested on Thursday in connection with a mass-shooting at a Dadeville sweet 16 party that left four people dead, and 32 others injured. Overall, in the past decade Alabama has seen more than 100 mass-shootings where four or more people were injured. (AL.com)
