Here are the top three stories today in Mountain Brook:

  1. Annie Gregory, a sophomore from Mountain Brook, joined another high school student from Hewitt-Trussville, Makaila Hope, to donate, with their own savings, lots of softball gear to Hayes Middle School's team. That includes fresh gloves, bats and much more. (6 WBRC)
  2. The Alabama House of Representatives passed a bill that would make it a felony to help another person fill out an absentee ballot in most instances, instead that person is a family member or certain election officials. The bill passed on partisan lines, with Republicans in support and Democrats against it, and now heads to the Senate. (AL.com)
  3. Birmingham firefighters fought a massive blaze at Birmingham Recycling and Recovery on Wednesday evening, all the way through Thursday morning. (6 WBRC)
