  1. Former Mountain Brook standout Colby Jones has been selected in the NBA Draft, chosen by the Charlotte Hornets with the 34th pick in the second round. However, a draft-night trade with the Sacramento Kings means that Jones will join the Kings instead. Jones, who played three seasons at Xavier, averaged 15 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.3 steals in the 2022-23 season, earning second-team All-Big East recognition. (AL.com)

The City of Mountain Brook is set to begin the Jemison Trail Renovation project, with a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, Jun. 27, at 9:00 a.m. The $2.7 million project will bring exciting improvements to the park and will commence on Monday, Jun. 26.
