Here are the top three stories today in Mountain Brook:

  1. Residents near the intersection of Overton Road and North Woodbridge Road said traffic "strips" placed along the blind curve have created noise pollution in their homes, with loud sounds that can be "really excessive." They brought up their concerns at a recent City Council meeting, where council members also discussed whether to continue allowing the public to watch meetings via Zoom, among other items. (Village Living)
  2. The Jefferson County Memorial Park has unveiled plans for its Linn Memorial Park, which features a spiral that will provide a timeline of "interpretive moments" in the state's history, like "slavery, the Civil War, the Reconstruction Era, Jim Crow Laws, Civil Rights, and Mass Incarceration." (AL.com)
  3. The Vestavia Hills police department has now joined the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force, which it's hoping more municipalities could join in the future. (WBRC 6)
