Some news out of the local sports world came in today as Hewitt-Trussville quarterback Cade Carruth announced he has changed his college commitment from Mississippi State to Alabama, following his dad's footsteps to the Capstone.   1. As I stated above, Huskies signal-caller Cade Carruth, who had earlier committed to MIssissippi State, announced on social media Wednesday he has committed to Alabama, following in the footsteps of his father, Paul. (Trussville Tribune)
  2. The Trussville City Council approved a resolution last night supporting a bill in the Alabama House of Representatives that prohibits trains from blocking roadways for a prolonged period of time. (Trussville Patch)
  3. An 11-year-old boy from Pell City died in a tragic accident during setup for the rodeo in St. Clair County Monday evening. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
  4. Jefferson County Schools announced Tuesday night that Grantswood Community School’s Andrea Riley (elementary division) and Gardendale High School’s Alex Lewis (secondary division) are the 2022-2023 Teachers of the Year. (WBRC)
