PHOENIX, AZ — Arizonans are getting ready to celebrate July 4 after two years of event cancelations and modifications.

Residents in cities and counties across the country are looking forward to many of the traditional Independence Day activities that mark the summer holiday.

Supply chain issues have put a damper on Independence Day in Phoenix this year, with all of the city's signature fireworks events canceled.

But there are still other events around the Valley where you can celebrate our nation's birthday:

Scottsdale 4th of July Celebration

  • What: Indoor/outdoor cashless event with bull riding, mutton busting for kids, a dog show, live performances, games, parade of heroes and a fireworks show.
  • Where: WestWorld of Scottsdale, 16601 N. Pima Road
  • When: 5-9 p.m., July 4
  • Cost: $15-$40 per person

Tempe Independence Day Celebration: Red, White & Floom

  • What: This celebration is set to include live music, food trucks, kids' activities and — in lieu of fireworks — a fire show with twelve flower-shaped, floating flumes.
  • Where: Tempe Beach Park, Mill Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe
  • When: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on July 3; Fireworks at 8:30 p.m.
  • Cost: Free

Light Up The Sky Celebration

  • What: Avondale's Independence Day celebration with tailgating, food trucks, games and crafts in the Kid Zone and live music before a fireworks show at 8:25 p.m.
  • Where: Phoenix Raceway, 7602 Jimmie Johnson Drive in Avondale
  • When: 5-9 p.m., July 2
  • Cost: VIP tickets are $55 per person

Chandler's All-American Bash

  • What: Musical performances from Cold Shott and the Hurricane Horns, yard games, balloon art and glitter tattoos for kids and food and drink vendors. Guests can bring food, nonalcoholic beverages, lawn chairs, blankets and coolers.
  • Where: Chandler Park, 178 E. Commonwealth Ave. in Chandler
  • When: 7-9:30 p.m., July 4
  • Cost: Free
