Scottsdale's Jon Davies 'Demonstrates Model Leadership'
Jon Davies rallied community members and raised money to replace a "nearly condemned football field for our high school," a neighbor says.
Scottsdale, AZ— Without community leaders, Scottsdale wouldn’t hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We’d miss their contributions in big and small ways.

What does this community leader do?
Jon Davies stepped up to assume a volunteer leadership spot to rally community members to replace a nearly condemned football field for our high school. His engaging leadership caused community members to open their personal pocketbooks to entirely fund the new field. During this time, his actions modeled how a good leader can assume an independent position. Jon avoided partisan politics, firmly demonstrating his commitment to doing what is best for the community and our children. From the football field crusade, Jon has moved on to continue leadership as an independent in a town that can often fall into partisan politics. Jon is also a trained volunteer officer for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Posse and an enthusiastic coach for the high school soccer program. He has two active young sons who demonstrate leadership and a wife, Tammy, who volunteers wherever she is needed.
Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?
Jon demonstrates model leadership of how a community can move forward on important issues with political leadership, a leader who role models and encourages others to put the community first.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?
Jon speaks up articulately on behalf of what’s best for our community, showing what can be done when one keeps the best interest of the community uppermost.
