DUI Task Force To Patrol In Tempe During St. Patty's Day Events

Tempe police are urging locals to find an alternate way home, instead of driving, if they're planning to drink or use marijuana this weekend

TEMPE, AZ β€” Locals who have plans to imbibe to celebrate St. Patrick's Day are urged not to drive, according to a news release from several area police departments.

The Tempe Police Department, as well as the Governor's Office of Highway Safety, the Scottsdale, Mesa and Gilbert police departments, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and the Department of Public Safety are set to have their DUI Task Forces on patrol during St. Patty's Day festivities, from Thursday through Sunday, according to the news release.

The goal of the task forces is to find, "drivers who have made the disastrous decision to drive impaired and remove them from the roadway before they hurt themselves or others."

Police advise locals who plan to drink alcohol or use recreational marijuana not to drive and to plan an alternate way to get home.
