ALAMEDA, CA — This November, Patch is celebrating "30 Days of Gratitude," stories about living with gratitude — in simple terms, a deliberate choice to see the goodness and joy in your life and to wish the same for your neighbors.

Living with gratitude is a matter of continually counting one's blessings while at the same time recognizing that the source of goodness in one's life is other people.

Earlier this month, we asked Alameda residents to share who or what they were grateful for. Here's what your neighbors had to say.

"Annie always takes the time to show gratitude to those who help her."

"I am grateful for Annie Cox of Alameda. She has such a gracious way of organizing team work and making an impact. She has smart ideas and a strong work ethic (which can be so rare these days). Annie always takes the time to show gratitude to those who help her. She is compassionate and also funny. I appreciate the positive influence she brings to my life and I always look forward to her calls. Thanks Patch, for inspiring me to share my gratitude for Annie."

"I'm real grateful for my boss"

"First I Want To Thank Alameda Patch For The Opportunity For Letting Me And Others Get The Chance To Express Ourselves. I am most grateful for God for giving us a day of life and to Express myself. Amen. I'm real grateful to my boss at Alameda self car wash for giving me a chance to work and be a productive person in my community. 2014 I graduated from salvation army 2014 off my old addiction. I also made bad choices in my past and today I don't have to be scared of Alameda police Law enforcement looking for me because of what I did wrong. Today I feel good going to work and no worry about any law enforcement. It feels good so I would like Philip and Sofia to know I'm real gratful for them in my life. We need more bosses like them in Alameda who give myself and others a second chance in life. Thank you and I do love them like my mom and dad that I never had in my life. Love all of you and today it feels good to be part of society."
