$736K Mega Millions Ticket Sold In Banning

BANNING, CA — One lucky lottery player in Riverside County has a Mega Millions ticket worth more than $736,000.

A Mega Millions ticket with five numbers, but missing the Mega number, was sold at a gas station in Banning, the California Lottery announced. The ticket was purchased at Shell gas station at 2192 W. Ramsey St.

The ticket is worth $736,435, according to the California Lottery.

Five tickets with five numbers were also sold in Florida, Illinois, Nebraska, Texas and Virginia, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the game. The ticket with five numbers sold in Virginia is worth $3 million because it included the optional Megaplier.

The numbers drawn Friday were 3, 8, 31, 35, 44 and the Mega number was 16. There were no tickets sold with all six numbers. The estimated jackpot was $977 million.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 302,575,350, according to the California Lottery.

The Mega Millions game is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday. The estimated jackpot is $1.1 billion for Tuesday's drawing.
