Banning Resident Adolfo Delgado Passes At Age 75

His life is being celebrated by all who love him.

BANNING, CA — A Pass Area resident and retired postmaster is being remembered by his family as a loving man following his passing December 2 at the age of 75.

Adolfo Delgado of Banning was born In Corpus Christi, Texas, on September 25, 1945. He grew up in a happy home, graduated high school and went on to join the U.S. Air Force to serve in the Vietnam conflict as a mechanic.

During his time in service, he met and would marry his wife, Olga. Through the union, he gained a stepson.

After military retirement, Delgado was employed by the U.S. Post Office, working his way up to become a station manager/postmaster at the Redlands branch.

He retired in 1999 to spend time with his new grandchildren.

Delgado moved to Calimesa/Yucaipa where he enjoyed retirement with Olga until her passing. From there, he moved into a home with his daughter, Debra. They eventually relocated to Banning and enjoyed 11 wonderful years together.

Delgado is survived by his daughter Debra Estrella, his son-in-law Arnie Estrella, his grandchildren Areanna and Gabriel Estrella, his sister Mary Wilson, and many more family members in California and Texas.

His hobbies included going out to meet with friends at McDonald's in the mornings, spending time with his grandchildren, telling jokes, reading outside with his pets and napping.

"He will be sorely missed, however his life will be celebrated by all who love him," his grandson Gabriel said.
