BCVPARKS General Manager wins Outstanding GM Award

We are proud to announce our General Manager Duane Burk received the “Outstanding General Manager” award from the California Association of Recreation & Park Districts (CARPD) during their Annual Awards of Distinction ceremony May 19, 2022.

Since he began as our district General Manager in 2016, Burk has been determined to keep BCVRPD strong, relevant and help it grow along with our community’s need for recreation and fun! He’s successfully utilized his three decades of public works experience plus his knowledge of the local community (he grew up in Beaumont) to advance our special district in so many ways: from growing and improving our park spaces to rebuilding the Foundation and helping the district run smoothly and effectively, and much more.

If you’ve had the pleasure of meeting our GM, you know he genuinely enjoys his job and believes in the mission of our district - to grow and improve the recreational opportunities for our surrounding community. Regular Bogart Regional Park visitors have probably run into Burk checking out the improvements and planning more great things. He actually caught his first fish there at the Bogart Fishing Pond when he was a child. That's a big part of why his heart is set on keeping Bogart Regional Park a special haven people continue to fall in love with. (Bogart Regional Park was selected as the Outstanding Renovated Facility at last years CARPD Awards of Distinction ceremony).
