Find Cheap Gas In The Pass Area As Prices Rise Across RivCo

We searched for the least expensive regular, unleaded gasoline near you as Spring Break arrives.

BANNING, CA — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped eight-tenths of a cent Tuesday to $4.806, a day after it rose two-tenths of a cent, according to the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. Prices are approaching where they were one year ago, according to that agency.

As of Tuesday, the cheapest gas prices in Riverside County were in the Coachella Valley. The Sam's Club station on Monterey Avenue and Dinah Shore Drive was selling regular unleaded gasoline at $4.19 per gallon Tuesday, just over 60 cents cheaper than the average.

Pass area travelers and those heading on I-10 through Banning, Beaumont, and Cabazon can find the cheapest gas on Tuesday at the ARCO station on East First Street in Beaumont. Regular unleaded gasoline retails there for $4.39 per gallon as of Tuesday morning.

In Southwest Riverside County, gas prices remained 40 cents cheaper at membership retailers Tuesday, including Temecula Valley Costco and Sam's Club. Those stations priced regular unleaded gasoline at $4.45 per gallon in Temecula, Murrieta, and Lake Elsinore.

The average price was 1.2 cents more than one week ago and 17.4 cents higher than one month ago, but it was 6.1 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA.

Even though it may feel pricey at the pump, fuel prices have dropped $1.567 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped three-tenths of a cent to $3.394 a day after rising three-tenths of a cent. It is 2.8 cents higher than one week ago and 19.8 cents higher than one month ago, but 7.8 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.622 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
