Fun and Educational Activities at Beaumont Library in October

Beaumont Library and its Friends have a variety of events in October, from Open Mic Night to the Big Book Sale to a Solar Eclipse Party

Beaumont Library will be hosting a variety of fun and educational programs during the month of October.

Beaumont Library Open Mic Night

There will be an in-person open mic night for poets and poetry enthusiasts to share their work with the rest of the community on Monday, October 16, from 5 to 6 p.m. in celebration of National Arts & Humanities Month. Whether you are a professional or amateur accomplished in spoken word poetry or reading for the first time, all are welcome to share their favorite pieces within this supportive environment.

Friends of Beaumont Library Big Book Sale

The Friends of Beaumont Library's annual Big Book Sale will take place on Saturday, October 14, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Library parking lot at 125 E. 8th Street, Beaumont. Bags of books can be purchased for $1 to $3. Proceeds are donated to the Library to support programs and services.

Friends of Beaumont Library Annual Meeting

The Friends of Beaumont Library will hold their Annual Membership Meeting on Tuesday, October 17, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Local Author, J. Luke Bennecke, will be speaking about his writing process and his books will be available for purchase and signing. A new Friends Board President will be nominated and elected by members and an update about the organization will be given. Members and potential NEW members are invited to attend.

Solar Eclipse Party at Beaumont Library

All are welcome to visit the Beaumont Library parking lot, at 125 E. 8th St., for a Solar Eclipse Party on Saturday, October 14, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Solar eclipse glasses and a shared telescope will be provided. There will be fun activities for the kids and free breakfast items while supplies last!
