MORENO VALLEY, CA — Remember that winning $13 million lottery ticket sold early this year in Riverside County? Sandra Norman sure does because she was that lucky winner, California Lottery officials confirmed this week.

It's been a while. Norman's jackpot ticket was announced way back on Jan. 8 after she purchased it from Sunnymead Liquor, 24121 Sunnymead Blvd. in Moreno Valley. Her identity, however, was never revealed until now.

Norman was the first SuperLotto Plus jackpot winner of 2022, but it wasn't her first time buying lottery tickets. It's been a tradition for the local woman and her two younger cousins to recycle cans and bottles. With the money they earn, the kids get snacks, and Norman treats herself to lottery tickets.

She remembers that winter winning quite well.

“This time, they got chips and soda, and I got $13 million!” she told lottery officials. “Once my husband and I realized we won, we were jumping around like, like … like we won the lottery!”

With the money, Norman plans to buy a bigger house, an RV, and take care of family, she told lottery officials.

A trip is planned too.

“We are going to wine taste all through the Napa Valley and stock up on wine for our new house, which will definitely have a cellar!” she said.

Norman's winning ticket had the numbers 25, 2, 42, 41, 13 with a Mega Ball of 27.

In addition to Norman's multimillion-dollar prize, Sunnymead Liquor earned a $65,000 bonus for selling the lucky jackpot ticket, according to lottery officials.
