Pass Area Gas Prices Drop As Memorial Day Weekend Approaches

BANNING, CA — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Wednesday for the 22nd time in 23 days, decreasing 1.9 cents to $5.047.

In the Pass Area, the cheapest gas available was at the Shell Station on E. 6th Street and the ARCO & ampm on E First Street, at $4.69 per gallon of regular, unleaded gasoline, www.GasBuddy.com users have said.

According to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service, the average price has decreased 24.3 cents over the past 23 days, including 1.2 cents on Tuesday and 1.2 cents on Monday. It dropped 13 consecutive days, rose six-tenths of a cent on May 13, and resumed decreasing the following day.

The average price is 9.4 cents less than one week ago, 26.6 cents lower than one month ago, but 27 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.326 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price increased 1.3 cents to $3.611. It is four-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, 6.4 cents lower than one month ago, and 7.1 cents more than one year ago.

The national average price has dropped $1.405 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
