RivCo Man Appears On Longest Running Game Show 'The Price Is Right'

HEMET, CA — A Hemet resident is already slated to appear on an upcoming episode of “The Price Is Right” set to air in September. Julius Betts of Hemet is scheduled to appear on Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. on CBS, a spokesperson for the show tells Patch. Betts joins the lengthy list of contestants who have “come on down” during the show’s 50-season run.

If you want to try your luck, Riverside County residents have a chance to appear on “The Price is Right” game show this fall as the show goes on the road to Temecula in November.

The game show is spending its anniversary season on the road for “The Price Is Right Come On Down Tour.” The coast-to-coast journey makes 50 stops across the country, including a two-day stint at Pechanga Resort and Casino’s theater in Temecula on November 19 at 4 p.m. and again at 8 p.m.

For $40 a ticket, fans can appear in the Temecula audience for the chance to be called down the aisle, play games and maybe even win the grand prize of $50,000 while supporting local businesses along the way,

“The Price is Right” remains the longest-running game show in television history, according to President and Chief Marketing Officer of the CBS Entertainment Group Mike Benson.

“The Price is Right” premiered on Sept. 4, 1972, as original host Bob Barker showcased everyday household items to audience members for a chance to win cash and prizes. Drew Carey has hosted the CBS show since 2007. The game show has distributed over $300 million to contestants since its inception, according to Benson.

“‘The Price Is Right’ has been changing lives and touching hearts for 50 years,” Benson said. “This longevity stands as a testament to everything good about CBS programming and the success of our fan-first approach to television.”
