NFL Owners to Hash Out Plans for LA Team

National Football League owners will hold a special meeting to talk proposals to bring teams such as the Chargers, Raiders or Rams to LA.

National Football League owners will hold a special meeting in August to discuss the possibility of one or more teams moving to Los Angeles.

According to NFL Network, the Aug. 11 meeting will be largely informational, with owners reviewing the status of stadium negotiations involving the three teams eyeing a possible move to the Southland -- the Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers and St. Louis Rams.

No decisions on relocation of any teams are expected to be made at the meeting. The meeting was scheduled to provide more information on the topic to owners prior to their already scheduled meeting in October.

The Raiders and Chargers are proposing a joint stadium in Carson, assuming the teams can’t reach agreements for new facilities in their existing cities. Rams owner Stan Kroenke is part of a development group moving ahead with construction of an NFL-ready stadium at the former Hollywood Park racetrack site in Inglewood.
