Support Easterseals Bob Hope Veterans Support Program on Your Next Trip to Albertsons, Vons or Pavilions

This Memorial Day, Albertsons, Vons and Pavilions stores, along with Easterseals, invite you to contribute to services that improve today’s veterans’ lives.

The week of May 24-30, 2017 shoppers at local Albertsons, Vons and Pavilions locations will be able to make a donation at checkout where 100% will benefit Easterseals Southern California’s Bob Hope Veterans Support Program, which provides customized, one-on-one employment support to veterans transitioning out of the military to civilian work.

Donations to the Easterseals Bob Hope Veterans Support Program help provide free employment support assistance that includes: helping veterans determine employment goals, resume development, building interview skills, a “foot-in-the door” to a network of employers, and other resources.

"After serving this country in the military, we want to make sure these men and women can successfully transition to civilian life with meaningful employment," said John Funk, director of Bob Hope Veterans Support Program, Easterseals Southern California. "Because the services are one-on-one, we can identify the unique circumstances of each veteran, so we can address their needs, and match their desires and skills to what the veteran defines as meaningful employment," he added.

Since launching in 2014, Easterseals Bob Hope Veterans Support Program has served over 750 veterans and families with employment support and referral to other resources, placing more than 400 into civilian positions, and over 50 pursuing degrees in higher education. Last year’s campaign with Vons and Pavilions stores raised over $430,000. These critically important funds, in concert with funding from The Bob Hope Legacy, allow us to continue services for more local veterans and their families.
