Benicia Driver Hits 2 Parked Cars, Tests Nearly 4x Over The Legal Alcohol Limit: Police

Police arrested a Benicia man Thursday on suspicion of DUI after he crashed his vehicle into two parked cars.

BENICIA, CA - Police arrested a Benicia man Thursday on suspicion of DUI after he crashed his vehicle into two parked cars.

Benicia police say they responded Thursday afternoon to reports of a collision on Rose Drive. According to the person that called police, a vehicle had crashed into two parked cars in the neighborhood.

When officers arrived, they found the driver of the suspect vehicle still sitting in the driver's seat.

According to Benicia police, the driver appeared to be intoxicated.

Police say a breathalyzer test was performed, and the result showed the driver had nearly four times the legal limit for blood alcohol content.

43-year-old Rye Digre, a Benicia resident, was arrested and his vehicle was towed for 30 days, according to police.

Benicia police say it was fortunate that no one was injured in the collision, and want to remind everyone not to drink and drive.
