This annual event&nbsp;promises a day filled with authentic German food, fabulous live music, and exciting games &amp;&nbsp;competitions, including a free Mega Kid Zone making it a perfect outing for families and friends alike.



Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy imported German beer, including Weihenstephan, the world’s oldest beer that has been around since 1040! Indulge in delicious fare from the German Guys restaurant, the authentic German cuisine people flock to from all over the Bay Area. In addition, festival- goers can snack on a variety of treats from Bay Area Munchiez &amp; Kettle Pop.



For those looking to showcase their strength, the Masskrugstemmen (stein carrying) Competition will challenge participants to hold full beer steins for as long as possible. And don’t forget to bring your best traditional outfits for the Costume Contest, where prizes will be awarded for the most crowd- pleasing dirndls and lederhosen.



The festival will feature live entertainment throughout the day, including performances by the fabulous Red Elvises, the Benicia High School Band, Alpentanzkapelle and Alpentanzer Schuhplattler Bavarian Dancers. Adult games will entertain while children frolic in the free Mega Kid Zone area, filled with activities designed for children of all ages.



Shoppers can explore a vibrant Marketplace with over 20 local vendors &amp; German-themed gifts, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

Admission is just $8 at the gate, and kids 12 and under can enter for free.

The Benicia-Vallejo branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), will host a Fall Membership Event and Lunch at 11:30 am to 2 pm, Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Highlands Park, 101 Regents Dr., Vallejo, CA. Food and drinks provided for guests.
AAUW founded in 1881, is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that advances <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justice" title="Justice" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">equity</a>
for <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women" title="Women" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">women</a> and girls through <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advocacy" title="Advocacy" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">advocacy</a>, education, and research. Membership is open to any graduate with an associate or equivalent, Baccalaureate or higher degree. Undergraduates qualify as student affiliates with full branch participation.
The local Benicia-Vallejo AAUW Branch is an active group of equity advocates. Group activities include a variety of opportunities: educational, social, cultural, and public policy related. Since 1998, branch activities have raised scholarship funds for a local project called Tech Trek. This program provides a one-week hands-on math and science camp for selected 7th
grade girls that is held at a nearby university campus.

Join us for an evening with the supernatural, a celebration of Summerween! We will be conjuring spirits and bringing our Haunted Museum out to paint while you sip a brew, wine, or Frose! Lingering spirits will be your inspiration. All art supplies will be provided and you go home with your own original piece of art work! Includes the first sip free. The 2024-2025 Benicia Chamber Players season kicks off with “Cultural Spheres,” a program that celebrates the rich diversity of musical traditions and the universal theme of harmony. Gabriela Lena Frank’s Leyendas: An Andean Walkabout was inspired by the concept of mestizaje, as envisioned by Peruvian writer José María Arguedas, where “cultures can coexist without the subjugation of one by the other.” This piece blends Western classical and Andean folk music traditions. It is paired with Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 2, Op. 59, whose second movement reflects Beethoven’s contemplation of the “harmony of the spheres” as he observed the starry skies.

The Marilyn Citron O’Rourke Gallery at the Benicia Public Library is proud to present an exhibition of paintings by artist Sonia Gill. Using her bowls and cups as metaphors for human relationships Gill takes liberties within the outlines of the forms using hundreds of pieces of magazine paper chosen for color, value and pattern. Bold and complex compositions highlight these paintings or collages that make innovative use of reflextions and distortions. Her work in many mediums can be seen at www.soniagill.com.
