Alamo Boy Excels At Geography, History And Science Competitions

Cristian has qualified for competitions in Vienna, London and Puerto Rico later this year and in 2025.

Alamo, California — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

He won second place in National Geography Bee and third place in National US History Bee

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Cristian, a 9 year old third grader from Alamo won two trophies and two plaques in his division in the National Championships after four days of intense buzzer competition with some of the best students nationwide.

US History Bee - 3rd place

Quarterfinalist in Science and History Bee

Cristian won gold and silver medals at regional competitions in October, November, February and May, in Geography, History and Science and also qualified for all 3 International Championships in Geography in Vienna in 2024, Environmental Science Olympiad in Puerto Rico in December 2024, and History Olympiad in London in 2025.

Cristian also previously qualified to the quarterfinals in the 2023 National Geography bee in Arlington, VA when he was in second grade.

The National Geography bee, History bee and Science bee are run by International Academic Competitions and was held in Orlando, FL from May 23-May 27.

Other buzzer-based and exam-based competitions included the United States Geography Championships, the National History Bowl, National Geography bowl and the U.S. Academic Bee.
