50 MPH Gusts Possible When Gusty Winds Return To Escondido

ESCONDIDO, CA — Gusty winds will return to the San Diego region this weekend, prompting a wind advisory for parts of the county.

A wind advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. Saturday until 2 p.m. Sunday for the county mountains and valleys, including Escondido. East winds from 15 to 25 mph with gusts from 40 to 50 mph are expected in those areas.

"Winds will be strongest on the coastal mountain slopes, foothills and into portions of the eastern valleys," forecasters said.

Weather officials warned residents to secure outdoor objects and use caution when driving, especially high-profile vehicles.

"Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects," forecasters said. "Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result."
