Bob’s Discount Furniture Opens In Escondido

Area schools were gifted with donations, and festivities, open to the public, are planned for Saturday at the new locale on Auto Park Way.

ESCONDIDO, CA – Bob’s Discount Furniture, a nationwide retailer, is expanding with the opening this week of stores in Escondido and Chula Vista. To celebrate, local schools received cash donations, and events featuring face-painting, clowns, live radio broadcasts and food trucks are planned.

With 119 stores nationwide, the East Coast-based company sells a wide variety of furniture, mattresses and home accessories and also maintains a charitable foundation that supports various non-profit organizations.

Escondido Charter High School and Orange Glen High School in Escondido, along with Chula Vista High School and Otay Ranch High School in Chula Vista each were presented this week with $2,500 donations from the business.

Along with the opening of the two stores in San Diego County, Bob's also launched an outlet in Murrieta this week and presented a $72,000 donation to Special Olympics Southern California, funds raised as part of the firm's “Café Collection for a Cause” community outreach, according to company officials.

In Escondido, the business is at 1200 Auto Park Way, and at 1860 Main Court in Chula Vista.

Family fun planned for the holiday weekend includes balloon clowns and face-painters. In Escondido on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the KSON-FM street team and the Bread 7 Cheese food truck will be on hand. In Chula Vista on Monday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., the KHTS-FM street team and American Flavors (BBQ) food truck will be at the site.
